Finpecia 1mg Tablets contain Finasteride 1mg. Finasteride is a prescription medicine used for the treatment of male pattern hair loss, also known as androgenetic alopecia. It is intended for men only and should not be used by women or children.
Finasteride works by reducing the level of dihydrotestosterone, also known as DHT, in the body. DHT is a hormone linked to the shrinking of hair follicles in male pattern hair loss. By lowering DHT levels, Finasteride may help slow hair loss and support hair regrowth in men.
Dosage and Use
Take one tablet once daily, or as directed by your doctor. It may be taken with or without food. In general, daily use for 3 months or longer is needed before benefit may be seen. Continued use is required to maintain the effect. If treatment is stopped, the benefit may gradually be lost.
Do not take more than one tablet per day. A higher dose will not improve results faster.
Who Should Not Use This Medicine
Do not use Finpecia if you are allergic to Finasteride or any ingredient in the tablet.
Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should not use Finasteride and should not handle crushed or broken tablets, as the medicine may harm a male unborn baby.
Warnings
Tell your doctor before taking Finasteride if you have prostate problems, liver problems, or if you are taking other medicines.
Finasteride may affect PSA blood test results used for prostate screening. Always tell your doctor that you are taking Finasteride before having a PSA test.
Possible Side Effects
Possible side effects may include decreased sexual desire, difficulty getting or maintaining an erection, and ejaculation problems such as reduced semen amount.
Other reported side effects include breast tenderness or enlargement, testicular pain, skin rash, itching, swelling of the lips or face, depression, male infertility or poor semen quality, and rare cases of male breast cancer.
Some sexual side effects have been reported to continue after stopping treatment. Contact your doctor if any side effect bothers you, becomes serious, or does not go away.
Storage
Store at room temperature, between 15°C and 30°C. Keep the tablets dry, in the original packaging, and out of reach of children.
